Have you ever considered that at some point in the future a rap music CD will also be considered an oldies music CD? Thirty years from now, old people will be do arthritic dances to a rap music CD of 50 Cent or Snoop Dogg and young folks will laugh and think it outmoded.
I have loved the Dr. Dre album 2001 since its release in 1999. This rap music CD features guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Hittman, Eminem and Xzibit. In my opinion, the best song from this rap music CD is Still D.R.E. This song makes me reminisce about things that were happening in my life when I was in my early twenties. In particular, I recall listening to it on a car trip to and from the city of Edinburgh in Scotland. Since it has been almost ten years since the song Still D.R.E. was released, it may already sound outmoded to adolescents of this generation, although I still think the song is cool. In another twenty years, the album 2001 will definitely be an oldies music CD, and that’s a scary thought because it reminds me that I am ageing.
