The American Gangster rap music CD is Jay-Z's most recent contribution to the hip-hop world. As the rap music CD album title suggests it is loosely affiliated to the Denzel Washington movie about drug trafficking in New York City. The instrumentals on this rap music CD are crisp and everything that you would expect from Jay-Z. The beats are very diverse, moving from strings, to piano to electronic. This rap music CD really feels like a senior project with vintage choruses and sultry New York inspired sounds matched with clean bass lines.
My thoughts of this album are of the highest regard. You can really tell that Jay-Z has honed his rapping skills with the many albums that he has released over his long career. Talented lyricists stick around for a long time, as is the case with Jay-Z. On the rap music CD, you will see collaborations with Lil Wayne, Nas and Beanie Sigel. One of my favorite songs has no chorus and is appropriately known as No Hook. Jay-Z goes verse after verse, giving a background to where he came from and what he stands for.
